Meet JD Jones, PT, DPT
My name’s JD, and I created Arc Performance and Physical Therapy so I could provide top tier personalized physical therapy and strength & athletic performance training. I personally struggled with the ‘injury bug’ during my entire athletic career through high school and college. Playing baseball for 18 years, wrestling through college, and being a current Brazilian Ju Jitsu competitor has made injuries, aches, and pains a fairly familiar foe. That being said, my background in strength training in combination with my education through the University of Washington (Go Dawgs!) has not only allowed me to become a more physically resilient individual, but has allowed me to help others struggling with nagging injuries and chronic pain throughout my time in PT school and in my practice.
The foundation of my practice
boils down to three major themes: Empowerment, Clarity, and Results. My goal as a PT is to have you feeling better as fast as possible, and in my clinic as little as possible - that comes through giving you the tools to manage your injuries and pain. Unlike some healthcare professions, I strive to build a relationship with my patients that’s built on empowerment and not reliance. Good healthcare is making your patients feel better, great healthcare is putting the patients health back in their hands, and I strive to do that through teaching you how to get out of pain and build a stronger, more resilient body. By having and open line of communication, I strive to give you a clear and accurate picture of your injury or pain, clear expectations and advice, and work with you to accomplish your goals. In the world of PT and strength training, results can’t be overlooked. We will work together to find what interventions are going to work best for you, your body, your timeline, and get you the most optimal results - from rehabbing a shoulder injury or solving your low back pain to getting some extra inches on your vertical jump or hitting the squat PR you’ve been striving for.
About me
A proud Seattle native, I grew up playing baseball with my cousins and hiking all over the state with my friends and my dog Karma - the best hiking partner. I’m proud to say I graduated from the University of Washington twice with a Bachelor of Science in Physiology, and a Doctorates of Physical Therapy. If I’m not stomping around in the mountains, you can likely find me on the Ju Jitsu mats where I’m still actively competing in local tournaments. While grappling might be my sport of choice, my love for baseball will never be outshined. I spent 18 years on the diamond, and spent 3 months at Driveline Baseball as a PT Intern where I was able to significantly advance my clinical skills as a baseball physical therapist, from finding nuanced issues specific to the baseball athlete, to writing rehab and return-to-throwing programs for college and professional athletes coming back from labrum tears, tommy john surgery, and the various other ailments that plague baseball athletes.
